About

What do you get when you cross a graphic designer an illustrator and a UX expert?

That’s right! A unicorn partner for your next project!

I am an award-winning designer and User Experience expert. I specialize in creating designs, logos, illustrations, and UX strategies that solve my clients problems. I am also passionate about user experience and love to dig in and create customer-centric solutions that solve your problems. In my spare time, I am a mom, wife, cyclist, avid pedestrian, and coffee connoisseur.

Currently, I operate Sarah Davies Design in a freelance capacity while also working as a User Experience team lead and UX/ UI designer for Lexmark International. At Lexmark I lead projects from start to finish, mentor and develop talent on our global digital design team, and align UX solutions to business goals while advocating for high-quality design outcomes that improve things for our customers.

If you need a designer with over 20+ years of graphic design, illustration and UI/UX design experience and are passionate about working with great people and solving big problems, then please reach out.

You’ll love my approach

Asking Questions
It all starts with questions—lots of them. I want to know everything about you, your business, and your product. I will get into the details and find the story you want to tell. I want to know the pain points for you, your business, and your customers. I dig into the research and am going to help find your competitive advantage

Colossal Ideas and Design Methodology
This is where the fun begins—meaning I get to the business of creating solutions. This includes brainstorming, sketching, writing, wireframing, and putting ideas on paper. This is a collaborative process so getting feedback from you and your stakeholders is a big focus. I create and iterate till we get the correct problem solved.

Putting it all together
This is my strength—follow through! I am detail-driven and will ensure that everything looks great, prints perfectly, and works correctly. I am also here to partner with you and your team to help with any bumps and to provide guidance going forward.

Your FAQ answered!

How much will it cost?/ How long will it take

Does SDD work come trademarked?

Out-of-the-box SDD work does not come trademarked but we can help to get your project trademarked depending on the type of project.

Can you do marketing for me?

In short, yes.
SDD’s strength is in visual and creative strategy that align your verbal and visual communications. I excel at offering a boutique agency experience for clients interested in telling their stories over a variety of channels.

Are you too busy to take on my project?

This is the #1 question I get asked. The best answer is to reach out and see. Please visit the Work with Me page and fill out the client questionnaire. If we are a good fit for each other we can set up a consultation.

Where does this price come from?

I always pay attention to what the industry standards are and what your budget is to deliver the best solution for your business/organization. I love working with clients of all shapes and sizes and the price will reflect that. Solid design work will will help you sell yourself and your business, help you stand out amongst your competitors, help you make more money, and help you grow you business long into the future.

Is there a deposit?

Yep, SDD requires a first payment or ‘deposit’ of between 30% and 50% of the agreed total costs before any work will be carried out. When work on the project has been completed the final balance of your payment is due and then final files/web site code/project deliverables will be transferred to you.
See Terms and Conditions for the details.

Do I have to pay usage fees?

Identity/branding/logo/UX/web: Nope, when I hand over the files, they are your property.

What is the difference between a logo and branding?

A logo is a visual that helps identify a company. Branding is the process of actively shaping a company (or a brand).
Ultimately a logo is a small part of the bigger branding picture. It is an essential element, but not the only element.
Branding can include the logo, color, fonts, stationary, social media elements, website, photography, advertising and more. Furthermore, branding can be internal (the stuff people don’t see such as strategy) and external (your company’s visual presence). Hope that clears it up!
